Have a great long weekend!!
It was a great pleasure and honour to be in attendance with over 2000 other passionate martial artists, who travelled from all over the U.S.A. and Canada, some coming from as far as Australia. The opening day, general session was pulsing with energy as we witnessed lifetime achievement awards presented to Guro Dan Inosanto and Grand Tuhon Leo Gaje Jr. MMA Fighter Justin Wren spoke of his history of being terribly mistreated by other youth and how finding the martial arts helped him overcome the scars that being bullied had left. Also, sharing his fantastic testimonial of how bringing water to the Mbuti Pygmies of Uganda has changed his life.
The evenings highlight was the distinguished guest, Chuck Norris, a man who has contributed generously for decades to the industry. Mr. Norris humbly shared stories of his time spent with Bruce Lee, and the many other deep, lifelong relationships he developed with other martial artists. Beginning his Kickstart Kids Program in 1996, it has graded over 100,000 under-privledged kids to black belt, giving them the confidence and courage they needed to leave the gangs and get off the street. There were also Las Vegas style, demonstrations by; Nanda, The Shaolin Warriors and Team Paul Mitchell Karate.
Over the next two days it was amazing to make friends and participate in seminars with the other committed practitioners of so many different styles. Watching everyone come together to share, learn and grow was an experience like none other. The 2019 Martial Arts Supershow was a great success through the efforts Century and MAIA. We are grateful to have been able to be part of this exceptional event.
